Racism is deeply embedded in every part of our society, including the conscious dance floor. As white people, we are called not just to fight racism, but to take radical responsibility for it. If you are interested in deepening your commitment to transform the legacy of white supremacy, and learning to move through resistance and discomfort that arises for you when you commit to this work, we highly recommend signing up for this class.

We must come together as a community and address racism, white privilege, and justice. Valerie has been teaching us about racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. It is overdue for us to take responsibility for our own racial education.

We will create a virtual container for our collective exploration and reflection. The content of the session will be structured to support learning, reflection and community dialogue. Our time will close with a brief group dance to honor the wisdom of our community to grow and integrate through movement.

This class is being offered by white folks for white folks. All proceeds will go directly to our teacher, Valerie Chafograck, as a form of reparations. It is a way for our community to support Valerie in taking a much needed REST. You are encouraged to give as much as you are able - whether or not you can make it to class.

White folks: This is our work to do. We strongly encourage you to show up for this time of shared learning. 

People of color: We support you in whatever feels right. We humbly invite you to — like Valerie — take the night off to rest and restore. And we wholly honor your agency should you feel called to participate in the session. We are committed to being transparent with you and accountable to you in our process.
